A Message from the Principal

I’d like to share a serious safety concern that continues to exist at George Washington School.  As you may recall, the area located adjacent to the playground on Leslie Street has been designated as the student drop off area for all children being transported to school.  Those students dropped off across the street must walk to the corner and cross under the direction of the school crossing guard.

To ensure the safety of all children, please be reminded that dropping children off in our parking lot on Winans Avenue is prohibited.  Our children who walk to school enter the playground at this location.

Let’s all work together to keep our children safe.

Christine Sidwa
Principal

ATTENTION ALL 5TH AND 6TH GRADE PARENTS

As of September 1, 2008, there are 2 new required immunizations for all 6th grade students who were born on January 1, 1997 or after.
One dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) must be given no earlier than the 10th birthday. One dose of Meningococcal containing vaccine given after their 11th birthday.
Your child will not be allowed to go to school if they do not meet these requirements on September 1, 2008. Please call your private pediatrician or school nurse for further assistance or information.

Parents it is very important that we have current contact numbers for your children. Many times the phone numbers we have are disconnected or changed, in the event of an emergency we need to be able to contact you.

Please remember to call the school at 908-352-7664 Ext. 7400 when your child will be absent.
Thank you!
